irssi-xmpp is an irssi plugin to connect to the Jabber network. It aims to provide good integration in this text-based IRC client. It can send and receive messages in irssi's query windows. A roster is shown for tracking contacts' resources. Contacts can be managed. Command completion, multiple accounts (in different connections), Unicode, and SSL are supported.

Release Notes: This release adds STARTTLS support (enabled by default if the parameter -ssl is not specified), reworks the way connections are performed, adds a password prompt if no password was specified, adds a connection timeout in case there is no response from the server so that the connection will be reset after a certain amount of time (setting "server_connect_timeout"), adds a /CYCLE command, and has many others minor changes and fixes.


Release Notes: This is a major release after almost two years of development. The module has been completely rewritten (in a modular way) with a better support for the XMPP protocol. It now includes many features like MUC, Message events, In-band registration, Delayed delivery, and more. Many bugs have been fixed. Updating is highly recommended.
