Release Notes: Six new matches, and seven new targets were added to the documentation as well as the raw table. All graphics have been redone. Lots of rewrites and fixes were made. The text has been edited and updated.
Release Notes: Over 100 new A4 pages of material and 6 new chapters were written, including TCP/IP introduction, IP filtering, NAT introduction, debugging iptables, iptables matches, and iptables targets. Very many updates and fixes were also done.
Release Notes: This version moves all external links to the other resources chapter, as well as all links to scripts to the example scripts chapter. It also contains some updates to the matches and target explanations, and the .tgz packages have been improved.
Release Notes: Minor changes and updates were made.
Release Notes: This version contains several minor updates, such as fixes for admonition images, spelling errors, garbled program listings, and some variables to cohere with the explanations in the tutorial. This version also adds a prerequisites section, more detailed explanations on how to list rulesets, and some minor explanations.
Release Notes: This version of the iptables tutorial contains only minor updates and changes, mainly to assist and help those who mirror the tutorial. Unfortunately, large parts of the mirroring process were broken when the author moved from developing on Red Hat to Debian. Because of that, the tutorial now has a completely separate set of stylesheets and catalogs. It also contains some minor fixes to parts of the scripts, etc.
Release Notes: This version fixes a lot of old spelling mistakes, as well as a lot of other minor bugs. The biggest change is that the save and restore chapter was added properly to the tutorial, and can be read. There should no longer be any problems with the images either, and all targets are now alphabetically sorted.
Release Notes: This version of the tutorial fixes, among other things, the explanations of packet traversals, state changing, and lack of clarity about --protocol inversions. It also contains a lot of structural changes, and a new chunky HTML version for those not wishing to download the whole HTML file in one chunk. All targets and explicit matches are now also sorted alphabetically in the reference part. Table and chain explanations now also reflect the changes which took place when the mangle5hook.patch entered mainstream kernel. Rules to get rid of excessive logging from DHCP and other protocols have been added.
Release Notes: The HTML output, which is available on the project homepage, was corrupted due to problems within the SGML stylesheets. This has been fixed, and the tutorial should now be readable again.
Release Notes: There are lots of grammatical and spelling cleanups. There is a huge set of updates within this release of the tutorial, but not much new material. This release should hopefully look much better for most readers, and contain less errors and bugs.
