      Release Notes: The --environment and --resolve options were added. Numeric port names are now allowed as service names. inetd now creates a PID file. rcp supports the -V option. rshd and rexecd switch to the user's home directory after authenticating. rlogin supports XON/XOFF without needing -8. syslogd now can disable forwarding. talk allows 8-bit ASCII. telnet is not subject to certain DNS spoofing to foil Kerberos authentication.

      Release Notes: Kerberos 5 support was added to telnet(d), rsh(d), and rlogin(d) using GNU Shishi. TLS support was added to ftp using GNUTLS.
