Release Notes: Virtual Inboxes, Virtual Trash folders, an "Empty Spam" menu item and stationery support have been added. Attaching files has been simplified. A sound is played on new mail. A multiple message view and creating notes from emails have been added. Message previews have been improved. Photo attachments can be imported into galleries. New messages are always sent in "flowed" format. Auto-detection of namespace information from IMAP servers, a permission to restrict folder creation, and support for changing the SMTP server/port on login have been added to the administrator options.

Release Notes: Many MIME content viewers have been added or improved. PGP/GPG and S/MIME are supported. Filters were moved to a separate application (Ingo) and are much more robust. Full charset/UTF-8 support was added. HTML message composition is available in a cross-browser manner. Mail messages can be fetched from other accounts into IMP. Message loss during composition due to session timeouts is prevented. Quota support is integrated for many mail systems. All attachments from a message can be downloaded in a ZIP file. Attachments can be deleted from stored messages.

Release Notes: All subscribed folders are now shown in the left menu tree. Only text MIME parts are scanned for emoticons. The HTML composer works for Internet Explorer again. Message saving and attachment ZIP file generation has been fixed. The spam reporting system can now bounce a message to an email address. Kolab servers are now disabled if Kolab has been disabled globally. The installation instructions and todo list have been updated.

IMP 3.0 is a significant rewrite of IMP 2.2.x and offers many new features: better MIME capabilities, expanded user preferences, message filtering, multiple identities, PHP 4 sessions, a greatly enhanced user interface, a hierachical folder view, message searching, and more.
