Chanserv options
I am running a private IRC server and I am encountering an issue when attempting to register a channel.

-ChanServ- You need 8 more users to register channel #channame

Is there a way to change the number of required users? I have been all over google and read all the documentation I could find and have not found my answer. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Just look at the current contrib/ there is a module called hybrid_services.c. Copy it to your current hybrid7 source in modules/.

Edit the modules/MakeFile.in and add in the SRCS = the file called hybrid_services.c. Something like:

SRCS = \

m_accept.c \

m_admin.c \

m_away.c \

hybrid_services \

and so on.

After that:

make distclean

./configure --pref=/path/to/ircd

make depend

make

make install

Enjoy your aliases (there is also a /identify alias).

Command Aliasing?
Is there a way to alias the service commands using ircd-hybrid7 and hybserv-cvs?

i.e. instead of having to type /msg NickServ blah
have it accept /NickServ blah

thanks

Please, do try CVS version (http://www.srce.hr/~kreator/projects/tarballs/hybserv-cvs.tar.gz) before reporting bugs. There are some ~2 years of changes and Hybrid7 adaptations in there.

Re: I have this problem...
ok I got it to work finaly. The problem was the config files. it worked fine for about a day. But sudenly it was inpossible to register chans not. you get
-chanserv* register #chan passwd
-ChanServ- You are not a channel operator on[#chan]
But there are no channels registerd. I have tried reinstalling hybserv2-1.8 and hybdrid7 but still the same. I'm going NUTS!

I have hybrid7 (and hybserv2 1.8) and the TS5-only option is undef in the config.h file and still it doesn't work

You have probably both left Hybrid6 in TS5-only mode, which borks services up. Try with debug on (via #define) and see what happens.

I have the same problem. I've been searching for hours! HELP

I have this problem...
I have tried to use google and read all documentation I've found. I get the hybserv to link with my HUB irc server, it says this:

*** Notice -- Link with services.my.hybrid.server[user@255.255.255.255] established: (TS EX) link

but that isn't the problem. The problem is that when I try to do /msg operserv, my irc client says "no such nick/channel". so there is no operserv, nickserv or anything else.

I have the default lines in my settings.conf

(like this)

OperServNick "OperServ" "OperServ" "Operator Services"

so the nicks are right. Also if I do /admin services.my.hybrid.servername it doesn't give any admin info. Is is supposed to give something?

Please help me out, I run ircd-hybrid 6.3.1

my hybserv.log says this:

Fri Oct 3 00:08:57 2003 HybServ2 TS services version 1.9.0-rc2_20030903_1 started
Fri Oct 3 00:08:57 2003 Databases loaded (0 registered nicknames, 0 registered channels, 0 memo entries)
Fri Oct 3 00:08:57 2003 Connected to 127.0.0.1:6667

"nick is using a registered nickname"
You really should add an swhois line if someone is identified on NickServ. Do you think so?
