Gv4l is a v4l (Video4Linux) frontend of transcode used to watch and/or record from a v4l-capable device. The v4l device streams can be recorded in both raw and encoded format, such as DivX.

    Release Notes: Support for transcode 0.6.13 and later has been added. The way the xawtv configuration file is being read has been changed to fix missing channels in the Gv4l channel list. The Igain volume is now set to 1 if muted, as no audio will be recorded otherwise.

      Release Notes: This release fixes the the problems with the cron entry creation from the scheduler. There are fixes for the GNOME menu entry as well.

        Release Notes: Specifying a split size (MB) for the output file is now possible. Transcode is automatically restarted on channel or source change in watch mode. This release features other GUI enhancements as well, such as on-top dialog boxes.

          Release Notes: This release includes small bugfixes, small UI updates, and more choices in the TV standard field. It makes it possible to change the TV standard with another application, such as Xawtv, and select "Current". That way, problems related to the TV standard setting can be avoided.

            Release Notes: The 2.1.x development series was finalized and merged into 2.2.0. A couple of minor bugs related to the automatic file extension function were fixed.
