Release Notes: This is a new major stable release. SAML20 support following RFC 6595. OPENID20 support following RFC 6616. SMTP server examples (e.g. for SCRAM, SAML20, and OPENID20). Various cleanups, portability fixes, and other bugfixes. The API and ABI are fully backwards compatible with version 1.6.x.

Release Notes: The shared library version was correctly incremented. If GSS-API and GS2 are disabled, linking to a GSS-API library is no longer performed.
