Version 0.9 of grml

Release Notes: 113 new packages were added. Hardware detection was improved. It includes Linux 2.6.18-grml, X.org 7.1.1, and new scripts like grml-debootstrap, grml-ap, grml-bridge, grml-router, etc. zsh configuration has been improved, and there are many new configuration files. All packages were updated to the version in the Debian unstable branch as of 2006-12-03.

Release Notes: This release has been refocused and now specializes in installation and recovery. It is released in one size (~350MB) for 32-bit and 64-bit. Thanks to the reduced ISO image size, the Grml project also offers a grml96 (32+64) ISO image featuring both the 32-bit and 64-bit versions. One flavor, two architectures, and three options (grml32, grml64, and grml96). Linux kernel 3.1.6, UEFI support, VM support in grml-debootstrap, and new features in grml-live.

    Release Notes: This release features a new Linux kernel version based on 2.6.38.7 and up2date Debian/unstable based software packages. The Initramfs is now XZ compressed (smaller) and /run has been introduced. The new bootoption dns= allows specifying static nameservers, and a new command line application named grml-feedback supports providing feedback to the Grml Team via http://feedback.grml.org.

      Release Notes: This release features Linux kernel 2.6.36.2 with extra modules like iscsitarget, openafs, and loop-aes. Other new features include the vnc_connect boot option to initiate a connection to a listening VNC client and grml-rescueboot, a Debian package to use Grml as a rescue system on plain Debian and Ubuntu systems. The new Debian package grub-imageboot supports booting ISO and floppy images directly from within GRUB.

        Release Notes: This release features Linux kernel 2.6.31 and several additional modules. 67 new software packages were added. New features include vesamenu bootsplash, which provides an easy-to-use boot selection menu. The ISO image can be installed to a device directly using dd. Etherboot/gPXE and GRUB were integrated in the bootmenu. The boot option "ethdevice" speficies a network device for network booting (PXE) instead of the default. The boot option "netscript" causes a script to be downloaded and run from a specific location.

        Release Notes: The Linux kernel was updated to 2.6.28. 26 new software packages were added. A special MirBSD version and a hardware detection tool for Syslinux were integrated. Support for root persistency was added. grml2usb was rewritten, providing support for multiple ISO images. The "readonly" boot option was added for forensic investigations and data rescue.
