Gossip aims at making instant messaging as easy as possible, while giving users of the GNOME desktop a user-friendly way of keeping in touch with their friends.

Support for keep-alive packages being sent was added. An HTTP proxy is now used if the user has set up a desktop global HTTP proxy. You can also specify a different host to connect to instead of just being able to specify your JID.
