Release Notes: Application and Bundles use the latest convention on Apple systems. Dependency checking when making docs has been improved/simplified. GSMime parsing ignores extraneous data. The log functions GSOnceFlag and GSOnceMLog, the class NSError, and multiple new functions in GSObjCRuntime have been added. NSProtocolChecker has been rewritten. autogsdoc support has been added for building frames. Binary incompatibility: NSUnarchiver and GSIMapTable have new ivars.
Release Notes: This version removes the `--disable-import' option. There is now a README.Darwin for Darwin/MacOSX install. The framework versioning and naming were clarified. Default string encoding is now taken from system nl_langinfo if not set with GNUSTEP_STRING_ENCODING. NSKeyedArchiver/ NSKeyedUnarchiver classes added. An NSPropertyLists class was added, which also decodes Mac OS X binary property lists.
Release Notes: In make the make system, building in a separate build directory is now supported. The --enable-string-makefiles option was added to configure. A list of classes in a framework gets written to the plist file. In the base system, lazy locking was implemented. The MacOSX PB files were updated to 10.3. The DO retain/release implementation was simplified and also handles some complex DO retain/release problems. GNUSTEP_STRING_ENCODING now supports any valid iconv name. gdomap uid/gid fixes were made. The NSString subclass heirarchy was reorganized to fix problems with copying and ownership of data.
Release Notes: The make package received a few bugfixes, Korean support was added to the base package, and the use of the ObjCRuntime functions was updated. This is a pre-release for the stable release next week.
Release Notes: There are large changes to the location of header files (both in the package and when installed). It's possible (though unlikely) that certain applications that rely on GNUstep-specific headers may not compile because of this. A library combo is added to the Headers directory if not flattened. Markup file (Renaissance) support has been added. There are several Protocol and DO fixes. Traditional Chinese language support has been added.
Release Notes: A lot of work has gone to fix compilation on NetBSD and OpenBSD. On Win32 the HOMEPATH environment variable is used in preference to USERPROFILE in order to determine the user's home directory. GNUstep now builds using the flat directory structure (--enable-flattened) by default. Lots of NSUndoManager improvements were made. A new NSMessagePort implementation was written. The private GSTcpPort has become NSSocketPort. Improvements were made to handle selectors better over remote connections. The usual minor enhancements and fixes were made.
Release Notes: This release mainly contains bugfixes and only a few enhancements.
Release Notes: This release makes a major change in the location of certain directories and installed files, as detailed in the "filesystem.texi" document. When installing this version for the first time, all old directories and files in those directories will be moved to the new locations automatically. However, you should update all GNUstep versions on any machine you have them installed on in order to avoid any incompatibilities. Preprocessed Info.plists are now supported.
Release Notes: This release adds full support for MingW and Darwin. It also includes an optional build of an "additions" library for Mac OS X, builtin garbage collection classes, and many other fixes and enhancements.
Release Notes: This release includes better framework support, a 'make strings' command for help with localization, and more documentation.
