Sorry, but I find XSox very unintuitive and user-unfriendly. Not to mention I think it lacks a lot of important functionality. It's crazy, though, that there still seems to be no good, free, open, professional-quality sound manipulation application for Linux around.

Thanks, I'll grab that out of the tarball.

You can make the colors whatever you want to using the standard gtkrc mechanisms. Just copy the sample gtkrc file (found only in the tarball) to your ~/.gnoise directory and edit to your liking. In the future, I'll try to include this in the RPM version.

Thumbs Up for Gnoise
RPM install went smooth, ended with a code 6, but everything
seems to be in place. Loads files quickly, and permits quick
movement inside the file. Great project, thank you for making it
available. One improvement request - when making a selection,
it is grayed out making it hard to see the inside of the selection.
Making the selection transparent would be most excellent.
Thanks for listening.

project needed
A good PCM signal editor is badly needed for X. I'm wondering, though, if maybe the best approach would be to just make a front-end for SoX? Then you'd get all the cool effects with none of the effort :)
