Projects / glideinWMS

The purpose of the glideinWMS is to provide a simple way to access the Grid resources. To achieve this without reinventing the wheel, glideinWMS is a Glidein-based WMS (Workload Management System) that works on top of Condor. Once setup, final users can submit regular Condor jobs to the local queue and the glidein factory will provide the computing resources behind the scenes. From the final user point of view, the Condor pool just magically grows and shrinks as needed.

Release Notes: This is a major redesign of the glideinWMS. The factory and the frontend have been better separated; it should now be possible to have factory serving multiple VOs (and the way around). The frontend can now pass both upilot credentials (proxies) and configuration files to the factory, so the factory does not need to have any VO-specific configuration. This requires the frontend to have a Web server and an XML configuration file, just like the factory. The monitoring of both the factory and the frontend has also been redesigned, and is now based on javascriptRRD.
