    Release Notes: Assembler (x86) optimizations of some core math functions, fixes to make Heretic work on Alphas and Solaris/SPARC, sound fixes, a rewrite of the OpenGL window/event handling, use of SDL for OpenGL handling, improved in-game menus, ability to change mouse_look, mouse_invert, and grab_mouse in the game, ability for the VGA version can use hi-res modes, support for 89-key keyboards, GL support for big-endian architectures, fixes for two ill-judged memxxx() ops that caused alignment SIGBUSes on SPARCs, improved window/fullscreen and mouse handling, the GLU library doesn't need to be specified for GLheretic any more, and bugfixes.

      Release Notes: This game now runs with hardware accelerated OpenGL drivers on cards like3Dfx Voodoo 1-3, G200, G400, Rage Pro, S3 Virge(?). The game can be run accelerated in fullscreen or windowed mode. Now with Texture smoothing, sprite smoothing, corona effects around static light sources, dynamic lightning on walls and floors/ceilings, monsterlightning, playerlightning, wall impacts, dynamic loading of OpenGL library, and free mouse look.

              Release Notes: GGI beta2 is supported, small bugfixes in graphics engine, minor fixes in SVGAlib module, ambient-sound-fixes (some sounds are not too loud anymore), compile fixes for LinuxPPC, old dependencies are deleted with 'make distclean', X-shm code minor changes, disabled filtering (linear/bilinear) by default, and x mouse-code changes

                Release Notes: Heretic runs on Alpha-machines now, support for the original keys for inventory access, background run support, mouse sensitivity regulation now works within the full range, the main menu pop-up is now accessible only through the ESC key while in demo mode, Heretic-home(~/.heretic) directory permissions are now solved as well as various bugfixes.

                  Release Notes: Music support, several network fixes, Heretic now works an a Netwinder (ARM) and on a SCO-Unix machine, some new graphic-feautures like linear and bilinear filtering within all graphic targets (X11/GGI/VGA) and fastX11 (a new graphic-target) has been written, but it works only on x86-machines so far.

                      Release Notes: Automatic libc-definition, enum-bug fixes, more than one net-heretic (UDP) sessions can be started on one machine, ENDIAN-fixes, and private files (savegames/configs) are kept in $HOME/.heretic/ now.
