Gimp User Filter is a work-alike to Adobe's Filter Factory. It is a generic image processing plug-in that can be used to create new filters for The GIMP without having to go through the process of learning about The GIMP's SDK. Many freely available filters that have been created for Filter Factory can also be used with this plug-in.

Release Notes: This is a development release of the User Filter plugin for The Gimp. It fixes minor bugs (default values for map tooltips, comma operators working inside parenthesis, errors in code generated by uf2c) and adds new features (filter control stepping, different modes for off-image source pixel handling) while still retaining code-level compatibility with filters for Filter Factory/Filter Foundry. It includes some enhancements of the byte-code optimizer.

Release Notes: This release fixes several issues with the configuration and compilation process. The previous release would not compile on systems with glib 2.16 installed. In addition to this fix, several man pages have been aded that describe the non-native file formats handled by the plugin and its utility programs.

Release Notes: A few minor bugs have been fixed in the plug-in itself. The plug-in should also have no dependancy on SSL anymore when Glib 2.16 or later is installed. Man pages for the utility programs have been added. The German translation was updated. Most important, the installation procedure was fixed, so "make install" should now work as intended.
