Release Notes: There is a change to how getmail counts messages in an IMAP mailbox. This release prevents problems where getmail would only see the first 500 messages in a mailbox with some IMAP servers that return oddball responses to SELECT.

  •  06 Jan 2010 11:34

Release Notes: An additional fix was made for an IMAP server that offers a message it then fails to return. This allows getmail to continue with the next message.

  •  24 Nov 2009 13:25

Release Notes: Additional cases where IMAP (and for good measure, POP3) servers are broken and offer a message that it then fails to return were fixed.

  •  14 Oct 2009 11:37

Release Notes: A problem in which a new log message did not have a trailing newline was fixed.

  •  08 Oct 2009 01:43

Release Notes: This release handles MS Exchange failure to deliver messages gracefully. There are documentation updates regarding a Python IMAP memory bug. A bad tag in the documentation has been fixed.

  •  09 Aug 2009 05:53

Release Notes: A problem in which --dump did not generate any output for rc files containing the "verbose = 0" option was fixed. A copy-and-paste error in the documentation of MultiSorter destination was fixed.

  •  07 Aug 2009 10:41

Release Notes: The "message_log_verbose" option was added, defaulting to false. If true, the message_log file (and syslog, if used) will contain a little more information than the default of just messages retrieved.

  •  05 Apr 2009 23:08

Release Notes: This release adds Kerberos authentication support for IMAP servers, eliminates a deprecation warning from Python 2.6, and clarifies some documentation.

  •  26 Sep 2008 21:19

Release Notes: This release adds missing fsync() in the updatefile close method to ensure that data actually hits the disk before the rename takes place. This makes writing of the oldmail file more resilient to system crashes.

Release Notes: Improved information is sent to the log file about messages not retrieved.
