Re: Jabber 1.x
Umm.. there is no "reference implementation" of
any Jabber client. Jabber refers to the protocol
and the server. Everything else is third party.
BTW, what was the problem? The gateways to ICQ,
AIM, etc. have been a bit flaky lately, but they
are improving rapidly.

The windows reference implementation is severly screwed up, guess we can only hope that its is a client issue rather than jabber server issues. Great idea though.
In case you missed it on http://gabber.sourceforge.net/download.php (http://gabber.sourceforge.net/download.php), the Debian packages for gtkmm and gnomemm are available from my web site at http://landrum.cx/~eliot/packages/gtkmm/ (http://landrum.cx/~eliot/packages/gtkmm/). You probably don't need the -dev packages, unless you plan on compiling Gabber yourself.
libgnet1.0 packages can be apt-get'ed with the following line in /etc/apt/sources.list:
deb http://www.eecs.umich.edu/~dhelder/misc/debian unstable main
An open, cross-platform journaling program.
A scientific plotting package.
