ftplib is a set of routines that implement the FTP protocol. They allow applications to create and access remote files through function calls instead of needing to fork and exec an interactive FTP client program.

communicatiom with ftp-server sometimes fails
I wrote a patch that fixes a bug which sometimes causes the communication with an ftp-server to fail. For example when you send a signal to the program using ftplib.
You can find the patch here: http://www.vanheusden.com/Linux/ftplib-3.1.diff.gz
