Release Notes: This release provides full Kerberos and SSPI support for passwordless login to Microsoft SQL Server from Unix and Windows clients. It fully support building DB-Library on Win32/64 via NMAKE.EXE. It has built-in support for UTF-8 and wide characters in ODBC and better thread-safety in ODBC, and error messages in all libraries now distinguish between connect and login errors. For Microsoft servers, FreeTDS implements TDS 7.2, the version used by SQL Server 2005.
Release Notes: This version obsoletes version 0.64. It includes many new features and improvements, including timeout handling, encrypted connections, fisql (and odbc utilities), and autoconf improvements. One quarter of the code was modified in this release.
Release Notes: As with prior releases, this version supersedes all others. Db-lib timeout handling was corrected (error handlers can now force the called function to fail). For Microsoft servers, support for named instances and for encrypted connections was added. Partial placeholder support for ct-lib was added. For ODBC, compute-row handling was corrected, support for paramsets and constant parameters was added, and compatibility with DBD::ODBC was improved.
Release Notes: In this release, the ODBC is now compatible with OpenOffice.org, and even works with Oracle's OTL libary. Ct-lib now sports bcp and cursors. BCP was also improved.
Release Notes: This version boasts important improvements to the ct-lib and ODBC libraries, including support for UTF-8 and most other client-side character sets, and an ODBC driver which strives to be ODBC 3.0-compliant and supports 27 new functions (double the source code of 0.61). ct-lib and ODBC offer cursor and dynamic SQL. It has better, faster datatype conversions and bcp, more Win32 development choices, VMS support, and a new reference manual.
Release Notes: This release includes some support for Dynamic SQL in ODBC, output parameters for stored procedures, the ability to compute rows, varbinary datatype support, DSN-less ODBC connections, RPC support, compatibility with DBD::Sybase 0.95, 68 new functions, rewritten error/message handling that uses real error numbers, new sample programs, much cleaner code, warning-free compiles, namespace cleanup, and autoconf portability improvements, and removes the dependency on OpenSSL.
Release Notes: The FreeTDS project has seen quite a lot of activity lately and attracted several new developers (perhaps not in that order). With release 0.60, FreeTDS boasts much-improved support for Microsoft servers, including SQL Server 2000 datatypes and domain logins, support and convertibility of all major datatypes, much-expanded coverage of the ODBC API, an all-new BCP implementation, including host variable support, character set conversions via the iconv library, and threadsafe operation.
Release Notes: TDS 7.0 protocol support on big-endian clients, support for Unicode conversion using iconv, and many bugfixes.
Release Notes: Major enhancements to the ODBC driver, allowing it to work with the unixODBC and iODBC driver managers, as well as working with PHP and Perl ODBC interfaces. New configuration file format for finer grained control. The older 'interfaces' format is retained as a fallback for Sybase compatability. Preliminary connection pooling code. Added support for nullable bit types under TDS 7.0. Many bug fixes.
Release Notes: This release includes various TDS 7.0 fixes, a large query fix, and various other fixes and improvements.
