FreeMind is Mind-Mapping tool and an intuitive editor for tree-structured data. It features a modular design, and can be used to edit any kind of data, dependent on the current mode. The data is represented as a Mind-Map, while data, behavior, node style, edge style, color, etc. are determined by the mode. It features one-click fold, unfold, and "follow link" operations.

Great Mind Mapping Tool
This program does wonders. A lot of the commercial mind mapping only has marginal improvements over this one.
There is definitely room for improvement, but due to the nature of open-source, i guess the power is in your hands too.
Nice that the saved files are XML. I can see some funky XSLT to transform this between other Open Source projects being possible.
A tool which reports the status of logical drives on HP Smart Arrays.
