FreeIPMI

FreeIPMI provides in-band and out-of-band IPMI software based on the IPMI v1.5/2.0 specification. It has a number of useful features for large HPC or cluster environments.

    Release Notes: This release includes a new tool called ipmi-config. It supports the Intel Data Center Host Interface/Management Engine as an optional driver type for in-band communication. It adds OEM extensions for Intel Windmill, Wiwynn Windmill, and Quanta Winterfell motherboards in ipmi-sel and ipmi-sensors. These motherboards are also known as motherboards for the Open Compute Project (OCP). This release has been updated to support changes in the IPMI 2.0 Errata 5 and Intelligent Power Node Manager 2.0 specifications. Fixes have been added to support portability to Apple/OS X.

      Release Notes: This release adds a workaround for 'solchannelsupport' in ipmiconsole and libipmiconsole. It works around problems found on some Quanta Winterfell systems. A fix for SDR cache problems on Fujitsu motherboards was also added. A workaround in bmc-watchdog was added for issues on Supermicro motherboards. A sensor decoding bug was fixed in ipmi-sensors-config. Various other minor bugfixes and documentation fixes are included.

        Release Notes: This release adds support for intelnm get-node-manager-alert-destination and set-node-manager-alert-destination in ipmi-oem. Under very verbose mode, ipmi-sel will now output record types for OEM records. This should allow OEM parses outside of FreeIPMI to more effectively parse OEM specific SEL records. Also, big endian portability bugs were fixed.

          Release Notes: This release of FreeIPMI fixes a number of tools that were checking libfreeipmi API error codes incorrectly, leading to sub-optimal behavior.

            Release Notes: This release makes a number of changes to the reporting of timestamps to comply with the IPMI specification. All tools now report time in localtime (vs. UTC time). Options such as --utc-to-localtime, --localtime-to-utc, and --utc-offset have been added to allow users to adjust for their individual environments. Ipmi-fru has been updated to support the FRU 1.2 revision, which includes new FRU multirecords. Ipmi-fru now also supports the interpretation of DDR3 SDRAM entries. A number of other minor bugs and features have also been fixed or added.
