Version 10.8 of Fotoxx

Release Notes: A Portuguese translation was added. A Mass Resize function was added. Linux standard trash is now used. For area selection, the follow-edge method works better for jagged edges and the select-by-color method is faster and easier to control. A "list view" option was added to the image gallery display. Live help (F1 key) is now available for all functions. HDF, HDR, and Panorama can handle greater image misalignments more accurately. View/edit EXIF data was made easier to process a series of images, e.g. to add text comments. Several other interface improvements and bugfixes were made.

Release Notes: Retouch Combo can better adjust individual colors, change the sensitivity of the edit curves, and show a brightness distribution graph in the dialog background. Image Gallery has a slow scroll mode for scanning images visually. Slide Show has optional settings per image: transition type, dwell time, zoom-in speed, target center, and magnification. Leverage Edits was restored (for some cases it works better than Paint Edits). All curve edits allow sharper bends (closer anchor points). The Background Pattern interface was improved and the pattern can be rescaled. One significant bug was fixed.

Release Notes: The gallery page now highlights the current image thumbnail. Gallery thumbnails can pop up larger images, which can be moved and resized to view multiple images. Convert an image into a mosaic with small tiles made from all available images. Click on the tiles to pop-up larger images. Add a background pattern to an image (e.g. make it appear to be painted on canvas or a brick wall). Several small interface changes were made for convenience and consistency with other apps. Speed was also improved. Three significant bugs were fixed.

Release Notes: Indexing of new images is faster. Retouch Combo has new controls for fast adjustment of overall brightness, contrast, and color (curves can still be hand-tuned). Slide Show can simulate turning a book page. The Batch Rename and Convert functions were combined, and an auto-sharpen option was added. In Paint/Clone, a "shadow" paintbrush tracks the copy-from area. Edge blending of an edited area was marginally improved. Retouch Combo, Trim/Rotate, and Resize can recall prior settings for faster processing of multiple images needing similar treatment. One significant and two minor bugs were fixed.

Release Notes: The main retouch functions were combined for faster workflow. Areas selected by mouse painting and color matching are auto-finished, making it easier to handle "Swiss cheese" selections. Select Area can better follow edges when the mouse is dragged approximately along an edge. A new sharpen method makes very sharp edges while losing small details. All sharpen methods are multithreaded (typical 2x speedup). A new special effect can texturize images or selected areas. Slide Show transition types can be randomized and durations can be adjusted. Three minor bugs were fixed.

Release Notes: An new edit function can be started without closing a prior edit: changes are kept and an undo/redo position is added. Brightness and color functions can recall prior settings for processing multiple photos made under the same lighting. RAW files work like other image files: open and edit, then save in the desired format (auto-copy to tiff-16 was removed). There is a new option to show metadata captions and comments above each image. These can also be edited and written graphically on the image. Mashup editing is faster, especially for painting transparencies. Three minor bugs were fixed.
