fortune-mod-ru is a collection of cookie files in Russian. It includes the following categories: armenian (questions to Armenian Radio), citates (citations of great people), computer (sysadmins, PC and other), fomenko (aphorisms from Fomenko), M$ (dedicated to Micro$oft), murphy (Murphy laws), programming (programmers and programming). It also includes aphorisms from the collection of Nikolay Vekshin (http://aforizmi.narod.ru).

Release Notes: New fortunes have been added (amur, b0, b11, b12, b13, b2, d1, d21, d41, e0, e12, and e13). There are major fixes in kaschey's collection, and minor fixes in do_you_know. The citates fortune has been added. .u8 symlinks have been added for supporting of recoding on the fly.

Release Notes: The computer, just4fun, and fomenko fortunes were updated. A complete migration from KOI8-U to UTF-8 was done.

Release Notes: The fomenko and haiku fortune collections were updated. Fortunes were added from Sergey Sharshutin (http://home.onego.ru/~sony): fidelity, flirt, innocence, love_s, lovers, sex, sympathy, treason. A Makefile was added for easy installation.

i'm so rarely appears here that i never to paied attention to

yes. till 1.51 version all my cookeis waz in koi8-u encoding
one of the side effects was truncatin' messages in a half (1
byte vs 2 byte)
but now (from yesterday) ALL collection are converted to
UTF-8

I don't know if it's what I think; and what I think is that '.dat' files contain somewhat info about the size of fortunes, don't they? So when I iconv the text to Unicode, it obviously changes that size.. I have to recode, 'cause otherwise I get only ????? instead of a fortune. But now I like get half a fortune only.. )))) sincerely yours, appreciating your work. Is there a clue for me?
