Release Notes: This is the second production-level release after the big redesign effort. It includes many bugfixes and new features. The fonts installed on the system are automatically detected. The XML metrics generation is now optional. Support for the collapsing-border model in tables was added. Internal links in PDF now point to the exact location, and not to the top of the page. Support for UAX#14 type line breaking was added. This annex of the Unicode standard specifies rules for breaking text into lines depending on the language used.

It contains the new API first introduced in 0.92 beta; support for Open Type fonts; support for the rgb-icc() function and a proprietary cmyk() function; copy/paste from PDF content using embedded TrueType fonts; support for PDF/A-1b and PDF/X-3:2003; improved Java2D, print, and bitmap renderers; and automatic support for all Java2D fonts for TIFF, PNG, print, AWT rendering.

Release Notes: This release brings long-awaited features like keeps on all implemented FO elements, support for reference-orientation, better indent behavior, various improvements on inline elements like baseline-shift, improved leaders and image handling, improved borderpainting, and more. This release is the first after a big redesign effort on the whole FOP codebase. This release is to be considered ALPHA quality and it is intended as a preview release encouraging people to take a look at the new version and to provide feedback to the developers.


Release Notes: This is the last planned release in the 0.20.x series. Some hyphenation patterns have been removed due to licensing reasons. Documentation is now built with Forrest (version 0.3). The following JARs have been updated: Xerces to v. 2.2.1, Xalan to v. 2.4.1, and Batik to v. 1.5beta4. FOP has been compiled with Jimi and JAI support, but neither Jimi nor JAI is included in the FOP distribution. Links in PDF won't generate multiple link rectangles anymore. If this causes a problem, you can set the system property "links.merge" to "no".

Release Notes: The way in which the formatting object tree creates the area tree has radically changed to allow much easier support for keeps, etc. in the future, numerous bugs have been fixed, line breaks work within inline-sequences now, FOP now uses namespaces, the prefix "fo" is no longer hard-coded, this version supports all of the Latin-1 characters now as well as some others available in PDF, font metrics and character encoding mappings are specified in XML at compile time and basic display-graphic support is now in, but currently considered unusable.
