Release Notes: This release works on OpenBSD and FreeBSD systems without any problems. Additionally there is no longer a need for libbind. If not demanded the functions gethostbyname() and gethostbyaddr() are used instead of the getipnodebyname() and getipnodebyaddr() functions. Statically linked binaries can now be build without problems with glibc. Some minor bugs have been fixed, especially for Solaris systems.
Release Notes: A swap feature is added: if the database has gone, all connections of sensors are closed and all buffered alerts are stored in a swap file. The sensors will try to reconnect. These new connections are refused until the database is back again. A check for a swap file is made and the alerts are read in before the sensors can report new alerts. On a SIGINT/TERM or SIGHUP, the swap files are also used. A handshake process between sensors and the central database is added. The endianess of the systems is checked and a connection is refused if they differ.
