ffmpegX

ffmpegX is a Mac OS X GUI designed to easily operate more than 20 powerful Unix open-source video and audio processing tools, including ffmpeg, mpeg2enc, and mencoder (the MPEG-4 encoder with subtitles support). ffmpegX includes a bitrate calculator, a video player, and a series of video tools which can split, join, or fix video, compress a DVD to 4GB, author many VCD/SVCD images into one DVD image, and convert SRT subtitles to DVD Studio Pro 1.5 format.

Release Notes: This version adds support for mencoder and mplayer binaries version of June 16, 2004. There are some new options available for XviD encoding: "High quality", "Use b- frames", "Quarter Pixel ME (qpel)", "Print PSNR", and "Interlaced content". You can now burn .srt or .sub subtitles when encoding in DivX and XviD format. XviD encoding is now fully compatible with 'smartmovie' videoplayer (for use in handheld devices and smart phones). Some fixes were added to the "Extract" button to extract subtitles in VobSub format.

Release Notes: An error which triggered an "Error 1" message in some situations when encoding a VIDEO_TS folder was fixed. A bug that prevented encoding with "audio only" quick presets was fixed. A feature was added for updating file info and VIDEO_TS audio tracks and subtitles when dragging and dropping the source file or folder to the application icon. Postprocessing and authoring as DVD now uses dvdauthor instead of ifogen/tocgen like the Author tool. This is done for better compliance and proper handling of AC3 audio tracks. Various error handling improvements were made.
