          Release Notes: An "analyze" mode was added (and is activated with the -a option) for the -g option. Analyze mode won't recover any files; instead it will log the header block, trailer block, and file types. This information can be used for manual verification or processing using the dd command.

            Release Notes: All file systems are supported with the -f option. This has been tested with XFS, Reiserfs, and NTFS. Bzip2 and ASCII text file formats are supported. Recovery can be done by file type (with the -t option).

                    Release Notes: Support for the LaTex (.tex) file format was added. A bug in the "-g" option was fixed. Output display was improved. Fixes were made to support for the PDF format. A file describing how to customize extcarve was added.

                      Release Notes: Supports ext2, ext3, and ext4. Uses libext2fs rather than changing block bitmap/data bitmap and updating superblocks on its own, and thus will not corrupt or damage the affected partition/drive.
