Ewrt

Ewrt is a Linux distribution for the Linksys WRT54G that was forked from the Linksys and Sveasoft code bases. It is designed to meet the needs of open wireless network operators by providing a captive portal based on NoCatSplash and large-scale management functionality on a stable and low-cost platform.

    Release Notes: Based on the Linksys 3.01.3 codebase. Support for all WRT54G and WRT54GS hardware versions. Greatly improved QoS, including hardware QoS support on newer models. Config backup/restore functionality. Wireless client isolation functionality. Dropbear 0.44 has been imported; this release has working SSH and SCP clients. Busybox 1.00 has been imported, which greatly improves the Unix userland. NoCatSplash has been upgraded to version 0.92. Squashfs has been upgraded to version 2.1-r2. A writeable jffs2 filesystem has been created on /opt using free flash space. Many bugs have fixed.

      Release Notes: Many build fixes and nocat fixes. PMTU, cron, and check_ps have been fixed.

        Release Notes: This version imported code from the Linksys 2.02.2 and 2.02.7 releases. glib 1.2.10 and NocatSplash were added, and bugs and portability issues were fuxed. rc functionality for generating nocat.conf at boot and starting splashd was added, and Web page control was implemented for NocatSplash. Remote syslogging was fixed along with more build issues. Users can now explicitly use a default gateway on the LAN interface instead of the WAN interface. The 'nvram commit' function was documented and includes a warning for users.

        Great firmware, a little unstable
        Great firmware, lots of features I liked. Unfortunately it made my wireless go down daily and I had to reset the router each time. Perhaps with a 0.3 release it will be more stable.
