Release Notes: The Clustering/High Availability plugin now has improved failover support. The Core Engine now allows engines to open if Device-Mapper isn't loaded. Offline movement support has been added to the MD and GPT plugins. The text mode UI now supports "Create Feature", "Modify Properties", and volume conversions. Snapshotting has received lots of testing and bugfixes. The DOS Segment Manager has resolved differences between active DM devices and partition table metadata. Disk Manager now supports devfs without requiring devfsd. Documentation updates have been made.
Release Notes: The Clustering/High Availability plugin now fully supports remote administration. Necessary reassignment support has been added to cluster-segment-manager, as well as support for failover and loss-of-quorum recovery. Offline movement now supports Drive-Linking. The text mode UI is almost functionality complete. Initial support has been added for snapshoting using Device-Mapper (2.4 kernels only). The Bad-Block-Relocation Device-Mapper module has been reworked.
Release Notes: This alpha-level release is for the new EVMS design, which is based on user-space volume discovery and communication with existing kernel drivers, such as MD/Software-RAID and Device-Mapper.
Release Notes: The Engine Core has been updated to enable limited rediscovery, clean up stop data, and improve plug-in validation. The GUI has usability enhancements. Text mode UI adds some progress indicators, convert-to-compatibility-volume action, and status line usage for errors. The commandline has fixes for parameter substitution. The XFS FSIM has been updated with mkfs, fsck, external log, and online expand support. The JFS FSIM adds online expand support. The AIX plugin can create, delete, and expand containers and regions. Snapshot correctly writes COW table sectors on S/390. The 2.5 kernel MD plugin has been rewritten based on Neil Brown's code.
Release Notes: The kernel code has been updated with patches against 2.5.25 and 2.5.27. All plugins have been updated for 2.5 except OS/2, BBR, and snapshot. All snapshots are now async, and are fully persistent (even across a system crash). ReiserFS FSIM now allows online expands.
Release Notes: The engine core added volume converting, Add-A-Feature, plug-in-specific tasks, and progress indicators. The GUI gained support for all the new core features. The command line has an improved query system with new filters, and gained support for converting and adding new features. Filesystem Interface Modules gained new plugins for ext2/ext3, JFS, ReiserFS, and swap. Snapshotting added rollback and asynchronous support. Software RAID has improved RAID objects and I/O path. S/390 and GPT segment managers were updated, and new segment managers were added for IA-64 and GUID-Partition-Table partitions.
Release Notes: Support for DevFS was added. Dual on-disk copies of EVMS-native metadata (system data and feature headers) are now stored. An LVM plugin and a Default Segment Manager plugin were added. Drivelinking and BBR engine plugins now commit using the new dual-metadata format. OS/2 Region Manager support was added. A kernel-side volume quiesce/rediscover bug was fixed. The kernel patching process was modifed.
Release Notes: The OS/2 kernel VGE code has been dropped. EVMS BBR feature is now functional in the kernel. This is the first drop of EVMS BBR code in the Engine. Drive Linking code in the Engine is now functional except for the task interface. The LVM Utilities pvcreate, vgextend, vgreduce, and vgremove have been added. More commands have been added to the command line. More functionality in the GUI (still display only). Automatic creation of EVMS dev tree and nodes has been added.
