Release Notes: This release updates the Tcl/Tk core to 8.5.6 and sqlite to 3.6.7. An argument parsing issue, which could cause eTcl 1.0.0 to fail when launching eTcl kits (.etk files), has been fixed. Support for arm-linux (EABI) target architectures has been added and made compatible with the Android platform.
Release Notes: This is the first official stable release. Since the last release candidate, there has been only code cleanup and minor bugfixes. A race condition has been fixed in the Win32/WinCE audio driver in the evodio package, which caused a possible freeze when playing some WAV files. The GPS API for Windows Mobile has been extended to return satellite positions and turn GPS devices on/off. Using a container for Tk toplevel has been improved on Windows Mobile. The Linux version has been rebuilt with different optimization options.
Release Notes: This release fixes an annoying bug introduced in 1.0-rc30 causing the Odyce symbol resolver to fail on Win32. Extensions kits (tcllib, tklib, and bwidgets) have been restored in the installer. On Mac OS X, a bad issue causing the console to be shown even if running a wrapped application in non-interactive mode has been fixed. The Tcl code compacter in the wrap applet has been enabled and improved, together with several minor bugfixes and extensions updates (e.g. SQLite 3.6.6.2).
Release Notes: This release is based on Tcl/Tk 8.5.5, together with several updated extensions (sqlite 3.6.6.1, pixane 0.8, etc.). Object-oriented programming is now supported with the addition of the TclOO 0.6 extension. The Windows Mobile-specific extension (wce) adds support for GPS Intermediate Driver and power management. A new ::etcl::snapshot command has been added to capture window contents into an image. Various minor bugs were fixed.
Release Notes: This release is based on Tcl/Tk 8.5.3 and up to date extensions (TLS 1.6, SQLite 3.5.9, Tkhtml3, etc.). Pixane adds support for anti-aliased lines. Wrapping utilities has been added to transform scripts into stand-alone executables. Resources for Mac OS X have been embedded into the executable so that wrapped Tk applications can be run out of the bundle. Binaries for the Linux x86-64 architecture are provided and officially supported. The Wce package has new commands to query battery status and set screen orientation.
Release Notes: Parsing of color aliases in Pixane and Scene extensions has been fixed. A memory chunk was freed twice under some circunstances on Win32, causing an error message to pop up on exit. The toolchain used to generate Linux binaries has been updated to gcc 4.2.3.
Release Notes: This version embeds Tcl/Tk 8.5.2 and up-to-date extensions (including tls 1.6, sqlite 3.5.7, and tkhtml3). Startup time has been optimized, using VFS caching and look-ahead. Image sub-scaling in pixane accepts a new quality option. Implementation of the scene widget has been cleaned up, and its documentation has been updated. Controling radio devices (bluetooth, phone, wifi) on WinCE has been fixed.
Release Notes: This version is based on Tcl/Tk 8.5.1, so it fixes most issues in the 8.5.x branch from previous releases. Other components, like SQLite (3.5.6), tkhtml3, and tktreectrl have been updated. The full version adds support for tDOM, while still preserving support for TclXML and sharing the same expat library. The full installation also comes with tcllib, tklib, and bwidget preinstalled as eTcl kits.
Release Notes: This release focuses on fixing small bugs or incompatibilities introduced when switching from Tcl/Tk 8.4.x core to the new 8.5.0 version. For example, it fixes wrong initialization of system encoding, a one pixel offset when scaling an image with Pixane, a missing directory in default auto_path, and more. The distribution now includes tcllib 1.10 pre-installed on all architectures, as an (optional) eTcl kit. Coccinella and HtmlViewer3 demonstrations have been updated.
Release Notes: eTcl is now based on Tcl/Tk 8.5.0, and inherits its numerous goodies, such as speedup of the new bytecode engine, integrated arbitrary-precision arithmetic, and new skinnable widgets. The Tcl API for Odyce has been stabilized and allows dynamic compilation of most Tcl/Tk extensions on all x86 and ARM architectures in just a few hundreds of milliseconds, making it a viable alternative to shared libraries for deployment. The Pixane package exposes more transformations (e.g. arbitrary image rotations) at the Tcl level, and its memory footprint has been reduced.
