Release Notes: This release features a switch from Imlib/FreeType to Imlib2/FreeType2. There is a new "winter" default theme. The distribution is now split up into programs, docs, and themes. There is "theme transparency". There are many, many bugfixes. Most of the internals have been massively overhauled since DR16.6.

Release Notes: Bugfixes were made for dock app support, ascents in I18N fonts, a minor initialization bug in eesh, 64-bit issues, border width handling in ICCCM, warp focus, and KDE menu generation. New features include support for xinerama, i18n support via gettext, an extended display to the window_list ipc command, #-style comments in .menu files, a "configpanel" IPC command so you can open config panels via eesh, and new focus-related options. Translations into many different languages were made.

Release Notes: Fixes for bugs with translucent moves in 24bpp, minor debugging output left in scripts that generated mysterious "$HOME/2" files, coredumps that occured in ArrangeRects and when a window ops menu iconified itself, 2 IPC sync problems (if you use epplets, you should upgrade), max size hints for KDE, the default dock direction, and the ShinyMetal background and ICONBOX border. The scripts now work on non-bash-based /bin/sh systems and patches have been added for OS/2. Some paranoia about loading textclasses in theme configs has been added, the logout sound now plays when you have libSM, there are stricter requirements for RPM spec files and for configure, and examples of configs that make E more lenient for GNOME & KDE are in place.
