dvd+rw-tools

dvd+rw-tools makes it possible to burn DVD images created by "dvdauthor" or "mkisofs" to DVD+R, DVD+RW, DVD-R, and DVD-RW disks, replacing "cdrecord-proDVD" in many cases. The package contains "growisofs" to burn DVD images or create a data DVD on the fly, "dvd+rw-format" to format a DVD+RW, "dvd+rw-mediainfo" to give details about DVD disks, and some programs to control the write speed and obtain information from DVD-RAM.

This site is hard to read. Where is the install info for this software? I have used ark to extract files into a folder. I don't see an install.txt sheet which accompanies other tar.gz programs. The index.html file just goes into a diatribe of who know what. Anyway I tried to run make and it started up. I got this error:
RodneyLT:/home/rodney/Download/dvd+rw-tools-7.1 # make
make[1]: Entering directory `/home/rodney/Download/dvd+rw-tools-7.1'
g++ -O2 -fno-exceptions -D_REENTRANT -c -o growisofs_mmc.o growisofs_mmc.cpp

make[1]: *** [growisofs_mmc.o] Error 1

I'm a hardware man, not a programmer. Now what?

Good dvd solution for linux
Quite a good soultion for linux. But the kernel patch is not user friendly. Ah but the patch gives the advantage of using it as read / write medium.
