The purpose of disktype is to detect the content format of a disk or disk image. It knows about common file systems, partition tables, and boot codes.

          Release Notes: Support was added for UDF and Solaris disklabels (both SPARC and x86). Size readouts now follow a common scheme and use the prefixes for binary multiples as defined by IEC.

            Release Notes: Detection support for the BeFS, QNX4, and some System V file systems, BSD disklabels, Virtual PC disk images, and some Apple disk images, and significant portability improvements for the program itself.
