Release Notes: This release updates Deep Scan with the new known file signatures, including DXF (Drawing Exchange Format), BPN (ArchiCAD Backup File), PLN (ArchiCAD Project File), PLA (ArchiCAD Project Archive), TPL (ArchiCAD Project Template), and WEBLOC (Mac OS X Website Location), improves recovery of MXF files which contain video (older versions of Disk Drill could produce corrupted 4KB recovered items), recovery of DNG raw images, and stability of Guaranteed Recovery protection features on heavy-loaded protected folders, and fixes all reported exceptions, crashes, and minor bugs.
Release Notes: Beta: preliminary support of Unix filesystems (UFS and UFS2) and Linux filesystems (ext2/3/4) by Quick Scan. Beta: Disk Drill can accidentally or intentionally find deleted ext2/3/4 partitions using Deep Scan or Search for Lost Partitions. New file signatures have been added to Deep Scan's database: LRCAT (Adobe Lightroom catalog file), CAF (Core Audio File), CHM (Compiled HTML Help File), CWK (ClarisWorks Document), FDX, and FDR (Final Draft Documents) among them. Quick Scan is much faster on high-loaded filesystems thanks to increased internal cache size.
Release Notes: This release has been modernized and runs smoothly on OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion (Developer Preview releases). It is capable of data recovery from ExpressCard/34 external storage. It is digitally signed with a developer ID certificate to match OS X 10.8 Gatekeeper requirements.
Release Notes: This release features updated Growl notifications and full support for the new version of Growl's features, improved search for lost partitions, improved large and small ISO file recovery, improved detection of defective hard drives and better notifications if that happens during scanning, improved detection of corrupted files after scanning, an improved feedback form inside the app, improved free boot disk space monitoring and notifying during scan to prevent Mac OS lock ups, and improved DMG creation cancelling.
Release Notes: Disk Drill now speaks Japanese, Swedish, Portuguese, and Polish. Much better recovery: Quick Scan will now reveal live files on unmounted partitions, which helps recover data which is actually not lost, but is on a disk that cannot be correctly mounted to your Mac. Deep Scan is now capable of recovering FLP (Flash Project files), MINDNODE, RNS (Propellerhead Reason), CAB, TEXTCLIPPING, ARJ, ICO, ICNS, BLEND, XMP (Adobe Lightroom), and MYO (MYOB Data file). There are new icons everywhere, including the main app.
Release Notes: Guaranteed Recovery, the new data protection method, is out of beta and officially another alternative and addition to Recovery Vault. File Formats: Deep Scan is now capable of recovering APK (Android applications), C4D (Cinema 4D), RM (Real Media files, also known as RV or RMVB), RA (Real Audio format), MXF, FLAC (lossless audio), MA, MB, MP (Maya related files), ITL (iTunes library file format), DB3 (SQLite3 database, same as DB file in iPhoto library and a lot of other Mac software), CELTX, and AEP (Adobe After Effects CS5).
Release Notes: Final Cut Pro files (.FCP), .MPG, Raw Video Image Files (.R3D), ICS, EMLX, and ISO were added to the list of known signatures of Deep Scan. This release has better bad blocks detection, plus an editable list of detected bad blocks, so you can omit them while scanning. It has improved compatibility with Mac OS 10.7 (Lion).
Release Notes: A number of known file types can now be recovered with Deep Scan: PSD, MKV, OGG, DMG, M2TS, M2T, EMB, MAX, SDA, SDC, XLR, ALBM, JNB, WPS, MSG, AMB, SDW, VSD, SLDPRT, QPW, P65, DGN, FLA, AIF, DV, MM by FreeMind, OGM, TOD, and more. Quick Scan is now available for HFS+ partitions, so Disk Drill is now able to locate deleted files by scanning the Mac file system’s journal. Disk Drill is able to search for lost partitions now, which is extremely useful for initialized or formatted drives.
Release Notes: The new Deep Scan algorithm is now used. A number of file signatures were added to the known ones, including NEF, CR2, MOV, PAGES, PST, AI, and many others. Session management was implemented for recovery and scanning. Any media can now be backed up into a mountable DMG image for further scanning and recovery, allowing you to save failing disks. S.M.A.R.T. disk diagnostics were added for better pre-failure monitoring and reporting of hard disks.
Release Notes: The Recovery Vault daemon in this release was updated. Internal improvements: many minor stabilization and performance improvements. Several new explanatory messages have been added. The number of occasional crashes and exceptions has been reduced.
