Release Notes: This version addresses a Y2K-related issue concerning article sorting. All available "helper scripts" have been modified to reflect the changes. Those people still using an older version of the script should upgrade to this one.
Release Notes: A recoding of all subroutines related to accessing archive information (including archived articles) within the main Newsboy script, for maximized article-getting from month to month. Upgrade suggested.
Release Notes: A revision of the main Newsboy script to address session-expiration problems.
Release Notes: The main Newsboy script, as well as the available helpers, have all been modified in order to address the archive date related error. The system will now display news articles from month to month without the need to update the current news archive date by adding a new article for the incoming month. Users are encouraged to perform a clean installation of this new revision (backups of all data and configuration files are recommended if upgrading).
Release Notes: Two additional helper scripts have been added to the package (News Category Outline and News Article Chunks), the original helper script (Latest News Headlines) was revised, all the helper subroutines are now part of the main Newsboy script, and a switch has been added to the Newsboy script to allow users to enable or disable the auto-installation feature.
Release Notes: Reference to an outdated subroutine which would yield a 500 Server Error was removed. This only affected users attempting to enable the CSS Serve feature (a feature which will be fully implemented in the near future to allow use of Cascading Style Sheets within the script). We recommend that users leave this variable empty in the global configuration file until the CSS Serve script is released.
Release Notes: The system protection subroutine has been modified to allow system administrators and/or webmasters to specify domain names other than the one used to run the script via a new variable located in the global configuration file.
Release Notes: First release.
