Release Notes: This is the first public release from the new maintainer and the first release at all since version 3.8 in 1996. Significant changes in this release include a license change (GPL + LGPL + PBMPLUS license), defaults to transparent colour, support for flats in pwads (using F_END instead of FF_END), support for Strife (not quite finished), can extract graphics from Doom alpha and PR pre-beta, easier to build on unices and especially Linux, compiles with DJGPP and Cygwin, partial support for Hexen and half-a-dozen bug fixes.

Release Notes: This release handles levels properly for Doom alpha and Hexen, handles music lumps properly for Hexen, and no longer aborts when trying to include Heretic or Hexen graphic lumps, nor when trying to include Hexen flats X_001-X_011.

Release Notes: The DOS precompiled binaries are now compiled with DJGPP and don't abort with "Can't read WAD" anymore on lumps greater than 64 kB, all the necessary patches are included (even those not listed in the [patches] section of wadinfo.txt), and a new command -usedidx (colour usage statistics) and improved handling and reporting of many error conditions have been added.

Release Notes: Support for versions of Strife 1.1 and above, and Sun audio (.au) functionality on little-endian machines.

Release Notes: It extracts 26 more graphics from Doom alpha 0.4, and 86 more graphics from Doom alpha 0.5; various minor improvements.
