    Release Notes: Fixes have been made for IPv6 support, HURD, Solaris, and systems without ifaddrs.h. The last seen time is now only updated for the sender. Failure to bind a socket or get the local IP is no longer fatal. darkstat now falls back to gethostbyaddr() if getnameinfo() fails. Decoding on OpenBSD DLT_NULL interfaces (e.g. gif(4)) has been fixed.

      Release Notes: This release added support for IPv6, binding to multiple addresses, sorting by last seen time, saving of state without resetting it, and use of relative URLs for easier mod_proxying.

        Release Notes: A packet capture problem affecting recent Linux kernels, capture statistics, and crashing on interface down were fixed. Logging to syslog, support for DLT_RAW links, and a hack to help NetworkManager users were implemented.

        Release Notes: Statistics can now be saved on shutdown, reloaded on startup, and cleared at runtime. More settings can be configured on the command line. Daily traffic statistics can be logged to a text file. The program can now manage its own pidfile.

        Release Notes: The Web interface has been improved. Reports can now be paged through and sorted by different criteria. Promiscuous sniffing and DNS resolution can now be disabled on the command line. Minor bug fixes and performance improvements were made.

        Release Notes: Various build fixes were made. darkstat now builds correctly against older versions of libpcap, and builds cleanly on NetBSD and AIX. Minor improvements were made to the Web interface. Writes to the BPF socket are now denied. DNS resolution is less aggressive, and darkstat can now decode traffic on ippp0 interfaces.

        Release Notes: This release fixes building on NetBSD and shutdown on Linux. It has several performance, stability, and memory improvements. There are several security enhancements, such as dropping privileges and chrooting. The graphs on the Web interface have been improved. Backgrounding the process has been implemented.

        Release Notes: The 3.x series is almost a complete rewrite of darkstat. It replaces the broken pthreads core with a more portable and efficient single-threaded model, and brings in many feature enhancements, such as new per-host reports, and compressed Web pages.
