Version 1.1.6 of Carnegie Mellon NetReg

Release Notes: This release contains several bugfixes and enhancements. The QuickReg functionality, enabling very fast network registration, is now stable. DHCP configuration is now completely controlled through the database. The release also contains several enhancements to improve installation and debugging. The installation script can now edit the configuration files and present the administrator with only the important configuration variables.

Release Notes: A User realm popup was added for searching and adding users. Numeric zone names are allowed for RBL zones. Subnet map improvements were made. The interface of the zone to subnet mapping was improved. A generic query interface for changelogs was added, but is currently only available for machines. Several edge cases where zone serials on static zones weren't being updated were fixed. Several bugs with DNS resource parenting were fixed. A race condition in dns.pl was fixed. A bug with moving dynamic registrations to a new subnet was fixed.

Release Notes: This release adds support for multiple user credentials, a complete database changelog system, and a trunk set and VLAN system to allow more flexibility for multiple layer-2 network topologies, etc. The switch, port, and outlet administration system has been rewritten, adding the ability to control port speed and duplex settings. A SOAP interface has been added to NetReg to allow direct NetReg access to remote applications. There are many bugfixes and other enhancements.

Release Notes: New features include the new "QuickReg": the system can query MAC addresses from DHCP servers for "one-click" network registration. Clients initially get access to a private network for registration purposes, and after registration can renew to the full access subnet. Additionally, the system now supports registration of secondary IP addresses (for SSL web servers and other situations). New Web "hot key" support is also included.
