All releases of Coherent Mail Gateway

Release Notes: The SMTP server now dynamically bans persistently abusive IPs for a period. Performance is enhanced, and users may be given passwords to relay through the SMTP server from remote locations.

Release Notes: Bounced messages are now handled better, since responses with a value higher than "500' are bounced instantly instead of remaining in the queue for re-trying. Also, bounce messages now say which address failed to make it clear in cases where there were multiple targets. A few other very minor changes were made.

Release Notes: A bug in pop3d related to the change in Perl's return values from recv has been fixed. This would cause pop3d to terminate sessions without warning under certain (unclear) circumstances.

Release Notes: General improvements were made. The Spamhaus XBL lists were added to spam checking. Caching of redrect information was improved. Handling of internal email and dying peer servers was improved.

Release Notes: Email may now be redirected. Some minor improvements to queued mail handling were also made.

Release Notes: The definition of recv in Perl changed, which caused the SMTP server to die instead of sending outgoing email. This was fixed. Smart relays can now be listed in the smtpd configuration directory with priorities for each relay. Mail queuing is now a separate process, with a timeout for when the peer server hangs.

Release Notes: Spam checking using Spamhaus.org DNSBL service is now an option via the command line, as is invocation of ClamAV virus checking (which is not included, but can be found at freshmeat.net/projects/clamav). Timeouts during sending of email were also added.

Release Notes: A major bug which prevented the greylist from being updated has been fixed.

Release Notes: Microsoft Entourage has a bug in it which causes it get confused by the order of headers under MIME. The main aim of this release is to ensure that headers are in the order that MSE needs them. Correctly written email systems are not affected. The other major addition is that "debug" now takes various levels rather than simply spewing out every message it can. A couple of minor bugs were also fixed.

Release Notes: Verisign namesquatting is now handled correctly. Individual recipient addresses may be bounced. Recipients of outgoing email messages are added to the greylist automatically. Addresses are now case-sensitive before the @ but not after. Peer fail codes of 500+ are not retried but are bounced (unavailable server is a 421). The injection code for new messages was rewritten to prevent confusing bounce messages when there is partial success in sending. Multi-line greetings (e.g. AOL) are now handled. Outgoing email is only failed if all recipients fail.
