It includes a BMP files plug-in, a SoftImage PIC files plugin, a Guash thumbnail browser, and a UserFilter plug-in. For developers, it includes PICL, the Plug-In Compatibility Layer, GIMP plug-ins are much easier to trick into building, the libgimp directory contains the GIMP PICL shims, and there is an experimental effort at building ImageMagick plugins.
