cdbkup performs full or incremental backups of local or remote filesystems onto CD-R(W)s. Results are stored as tarballs on single or multi-session ISO CDs. It works either interactively for multi-CD backups, or non-interactively for single-CD backups.

Release Notes: This release adds more platform independence, bzip2 compression, inclusion of mount points, and preparation of ISO images, among other things. The documentation is improved, the installation system is more flexible, and several old annoying bugs are fixed.

Teriffic lightweight backup solution
For anyone with a CD-R/W drive, and more data to backup that can fit on a single 700MB disc, this is a great utility. The prerequisites are not too severe, and it does exactly what it claims to without fuss or fanfare. Definitely recommended.
