Release Notes: In this development release, several robustness improvements and code cleanups were made. Recent beta changes to the API were modified. The dynamic library file naming scheme was changed. Several bugs were fixed.

Release Notes: A regression where stroking under a large scale would sometimes incorrectly replace a miter join with a bevel join was fixed. The xlib backend was fixed to not consider recent X server releases as having a buggy repeat implementation in the Render extension. Several bugs in Cairo's PostScript output were fixed, including making the PostScript output more compatible with recent versions of Ghostscript that are more strict about Type 3 fonts.
