CAELinux is a live DVD Linux distribution dedicated to computer aided engineering and finite element analysis. Based on Ubuntu, it features a full software solution for professional 3D FE analysis from CAD geometry. It includes the Salome 3D pre/post processor, Code_Aster non-linear/multi- physics FE solver, Code-Saturne and OpenFOAM CFD solvers, Elmer multiphysics suite, GMSH, Netgen & enGrid 3D meshers, GNU Octave, Rkward, wxMaxima, Scilab, and more.

Release Notes: This version has been completely updated. It is based on Ubuntu 10.04.3 LTS AMD64. The Finite Element Analysis (FEA) suite Salome-Meca has been upgraded to version 2011.2, and a version of Code-Aster 11.0 with MPI support is included. It also includes updated versions of the CFD and mutltiphysics solvers OpenFOAM 2.0.1, Code-Saturne 2.0.2, and Elmer v6.2 with MPI support. For mathematical modeling, OpenModelica has been added to complement QtOctave, Scilab, Rkward, Scipy, and wxMaxima. New CFD Wizard applications and related tutorials are included for Code-Saturne and OpenFOAM.
Release Notes: This version has been completely rebuilt. It is based on Ubuntu 10.04 LTS AMD64. The FEA suite Salome-Meca has been upgraded to version 2010.1, and a version of Code-Aster 10.1 with MPI support is included. It also includes updated versions of the CFD solvers OpenFOAM 1.7.0 and Code-Saturne 2.0rc1. Other simulation codes like Elmer FEM, Impact, Gerris, Fenics, and Calculix have also been upgraded to their latest versions. The live DVD also contains numerous updated CAD, pre/post processors and meshers like Paraview, GMSH, Netgen, Engrid, Discretizer, Tetgen, VoxelMesher, FreeCAD, QCAD, and Meshlab.
Release Notes: CAELinux is now based on Ubuntu 8.04 LTS 64-bit with kernel 2.6.24-24. The Salome-Meca package was upgraded to version 2009.1, including Salome 4.1.4 and Aster 9.4 64-bit. The CFD solvers Code-Saturne 1.4 and OpenFOAM 1.5 have also been upgraded. New packages have been added for 3D CFD mesh generation (EnGrid 1.0), airfoil / airplane analysis (XFoil, JavaFoil, AVL), and 3D bio-medical image processing (ITK-Snap, Voxel Mesher). The following packages were upgraded: Elmer 5.5 with ElmerGUI, GMSH, Gerris Flow solver, Impact, Octave with QtOctave, R with RKward, and many more.
