Release Notes: This release added a license handling infrastructure which can generate detailed information about the licenses and source code of all components of a Buildroot system. External toolchains were updated. Download of a custom toolchain is now allowed. Linaro 2012.05 and 2012.06 for ARM was added along with Blackfin toolchain 2012R1-BETA1 and Sourcery CodeBench MIPS 2011.09. The package infrastructure was cleaned up.

Release Notes: External toolchain improvements were made. A binary toolchain wrapper is now built and installed it into HOST_DIR/usr/bin, which enforces the correct compiler arguments, making an external toolchain as easy to use outside of Buildroot as the internal ones are. Rootfs device handling improvements allow a choice between static /dev, devtmpfs, and devtmpfs with either mdev or udev. For the toolchain, there is more preconfigured codesourcery external toolchains, Crosstool-NG support was improved, a fix was made for GCC snapshot versions, GCC 4.4.6 / 4.5.3, experimental GCC 4.6.0 support was added, target-GCC fixes were made, uClibc fixes were made, and 0.9.32-rc3 support was added.

Release Notes: A proper split of host and target binaries was established. The cross pkg-config now also automatically returns correct values for cross compilation, without needing any environment variables to be set. This release also included external toolchain and crosstool-ng backend improvements and out-of-the-box support for downloading/using CodeSourcery toolchains, a rework of how hardware boards are supported, support for a number of qemu configs, a generic cmake infrastructure similar to the existing GENTARGETS/AUTOTARGETS, and support for bzr downloads in addition to the existing git/SVN/FTP/HTTP support.

Release Notes: An experimental crosstool-NG backend was provided for toolchain handling. In the long term, this is expected to replace the internal toolchain handling. Kconfig infrastructure was updated (from 2.6.36) with savedefconfig and nconfig support. A convenience Makefile wrapper is now created in the output directory for out-of-tree builds (make O=<dir>). Download handling was reworked and support for git/SVN downloads was added. Support for ARM Cortex A9 and Sparc LEON variants was added, and support for Alpha, Cris, IA64, and Sparc64 was removed.

Release Notes: Significant work was done on making buildroot more robust and testing different package combinations. NPTL threading in uClibc is supported (only for git snapshots of uClibc, since no uClibc release with NPTL exists). A GTK-based configurator was added, and is accessible using "make gconfig". .config is now located in the output directory when using out-of-tree builds (make O=<dir>), allowing multiple builds in parallel.
