                  Release Notes: A major rewrite of the IRC core was done. Support was added for contact groups and multiple configurable channels. A major update of the MSN Messenger code was done. Some Twitter additions were made. OTR encryption support was added. Many many more changes and fixes were done.

                    Release Notes: A complete rewrite of the IRC core, allowing the user to create multiple control channels, each with a different set of users. The ability to use libpurple as the IM backend (which adds support for many more IM protocols) and support for file transfers.
