Beobachter

Beobachter is a file monitor, usually used to watch log files. It has a Java Swing interface that allows the user to customize the highlighting of the logs depending on the log type. It is a very simple, multi-platform, fast, and practical tool.

    Release Notes: New shortcuts to clear the selected log and clear all logs. A new menu item on the Help menu to suggest new features and/or report bugs. A bugfix affecting the number of threads being created. A bugfix in the GTK+ look and feel counting frames incorrectly. Recent files are displayed in reverse order (recent open files first). Minor internal refactoring. Last modification date shown on the title bar (optional). The data folder has been removed, and the logTypes and sessions folders are located under the .beobachter folder in the user's home.

      Release Notes: The ability to hide selected lines. Application size has dropped to 200Kb from almost 2Mb by removing dependencies. Some bugfixes and improvements. Internal code refactoring.

        Release Notes: Log rules are now editable. A bugfix in the close all windows option. Internal refactoring for cleaner code. A smaller program file due to the removal of some (not hard) dependencies. Memory consumption has decreased. The license header has been updated. Google analytics tracking code has been added to the author link.

          Release Notes: Disables open recents on an empty list. Window title shows the current file. Increases default lines from 64 to 256. A white about window. Disables copy menu item on empty selections. The manage sessions dialog shows how many files a session has. More unit tests.

            Release Notes: New translations were added: German, Ukrainian, Portuguese, and Russian. Aesthetics were improved and there were small internal refactorings.
