Release Notes: A rewrite of the library backend, reorganization of the UI, improved Last.fm backend and tighter integration of Last.fm within the entire application, enhanced and debugged Podcast backend with newly added support for video podcasts using Gstreamer, initial Jamendo support, and a universal bookmarking system. The stability of the 0.40 series is incomparably higher than the 0.36 versions. The application's usability was also improved to a great degree.

Release Notes: The library backend has been completely rewritten. Stability issues have been addressed. Last.fm support was improved. Accessibility has been improved. Podcast support has been improved. The library interface has been greatly improved; speed issues have been addressed. This a development pre-release, and is not meant for general use.

Release Notes: The album management was improved vastly in speed. The playback engine code and big parts of the UI code were cleaned up and harnessed. Initial podcast support was added. Last.fm support was improved with display of neighbour/friend stations for easier access. The playlist was improved by adding an easy to use filesystem tree. Various bugs were fixed in the configuration system, the database, and the album view.

Release Notes: This release adds podcast support (initial, but fully working; to be finalized for 0.34) and enhances Last.fm support. It fixes a bug which would lead to the app crashing on restart when the default ALSA subdevice of a given card was not selected. It improves the performance and usability of the album view. The music library was greatly improved in stability, usability, and usage semantics. Audo CD ripping support was included. Support for Downloads via SoulSeek directly from BMP was added via MooDriver (see separate project).

Release Notes: BMP now uses a versioning scheme like GNOME's: odd versions (like 0.21.x) indicate development releases, and even numbers (like 0.22.x) indicate final releases. New features include a statistics and rating system for tracks, enhanced metadata reading and writing (WMA, MPC, and MP4 are supported), and better support for MusicBrainz metadata. Support for P2P downloads using Soulseek with museekd+moodriver was added (these packages are not included). It is now possible to preview items added to the library and discard unwanted ones.

The library backend and frontend have been entirely redesigned. Stability of the playback backend and GUI has been greatly improved. Most translations have been updated. Shoutcast streams listing was adapted to the new Shoutcast XML API. Support of HAL for detecting optical devices as well as watching files in the library has been added.

Release Notes: The code has been mostly rewritten in C++, and uses GTKmm. Stability has been greatly enhanced, useful improvements were made throughout the code, and the UI was refined to be more usable. The system now uses XDG data/cache/config directories. There are countless other changes. This is a development release, which is stable, but not all 0.20 targeted features are implemented yet.

Native Last.FM support was introduced. Thorough memory leak audits have been made. Various bugs that existed in the 0.13.x series that prevented users from initially starting BMP on a fresh install were fixed, and a lot of bugfixes in general have been made. It is now possible to selctively remove items from the library, as well as to prevent BMP from adding all cached items automatically to the library.
