Indeed. I have a low end system and Beaver starts as quick as gnotepad+ or nedit, and a lot faster than ScITE or the gnome editors.
Up until now I'd been using gEdit, which was very good and stable but was missing a few key features, such as being able to change the case of the text. Beaver works great and looks good too. The only things I'd like to see in the future is the ability to indent chunks of text and a function similar to diff to get the differences between 2 files.
yay for beaver :)
Beaver is superb. I looked and looked for a decent editor, and beaver offers everything I need. Thanks :)
so am I the only person having stability problems
with this program?

There's gotta be something wrong with your comp cuz it opens up fairly quickly on mine. Great program. It's exactly what I've been looking for. It's like gnome's gedit and kde's advanced editor combined together. Perfect...
Beaver rocks greatly. I love the multi-tabbed file editing and the syntax hilighting for php is real cool! It feels very complete, although I have one gripe - the length of time it takes to start, which I don't really think is justified for the size of the bin (312k).. Great program.. will be using it for all my PHP needs in the future :]
