Babelize is a collection of localizations for Linux games. It currently features French, German, Polish, and Spanish translations for "Heroes of Might and Magic III", as well as French, German, and Spanish translations for "Alpha Centauri - Alien Crossfire". The goal of the project is to provide localizations for as many native Linux games as possible.

Release Notes: This version supports games with multiple source media. It also supports extra files which are not installed on a full game installation but are required for localization. Support for patching different versions of the same file and support for patching optional installed files during an official game update were added. Two new language packs were released: a German version of "Descent 3" and a Russian version of "Heroes of Might and Magic 3".
Release Notes: There are several major updates in this release. The final configuration file format is now used. Support was added for different source and target files to every copy and patch function. Permission handling was added. Babelize now supports multiple versions of the source file to patch. The following new language packs were added: an Italian version of "Heroes of Might and Magic III" and German, Italian, and Spanish versions of "Rune".
Release Notes: The main babelize application now includes a manpage for documentation and it now verifies the free diskspace before localization. Also, an automake specific bug which resulted in invalid script replacements at installation was fixed. The "tech71.mp3" was added to the "Alpha Centauri" German and French language packs. A Spanish localization for "Alpha Centauri" and a French localization for "Heroes of Might and Magic 3" were added.
Release Notes: autoconf and automake are now used instead of the loki installer. All the language packs were ported from the loki installer to autoconf and automake. A French Alpha Centauri - Alien Crossfire localization was added. Full command line support was added. Now babelize also uses MD5 sums to check the file integrity before patching, and every localization can be applied over other applied localizations.
Release Notes: An advanced Doom 3 installer was created with the following important differences to the original one from id software. The installer copies needed files from all three CDs automatically. The client and server can be installed separately or together. An uninstaller was included. In addition to the curses client, a GTK client was added. Some small postinstall enhancements were added.
