Release Notes: AWF 2 is a complete rewrite of AWF 1 using PHP 5, PEAR::DB 1.6, and the Smarty temlate engine. Most of the code is object-oriented now. Still missing in this beta are some features like a forum document type and an instant messaging system. Both will be included in the final version. Caching will also be improved in the next release. One of the most important changes is that AWF 2 supports fully flexible URLs so that it's possible to replace existing static Web sites with this CMS. Other new features include version and link management as well as support for multiple Web sites.
