Release Notes: This release adds many improvements to the generated spec files. Many standard RPM 3/4 macros are used, making the resulting file more generic. The contents of documentation files are used to fill %description. The Linux distribution is detected, and an appropriate Group: line is set, if possible. A %post section is added for library packages. A bug related to some chown settings using the installwatch -w option has been fixed. Warnings have been eliminated when running on Python 2.1. The man page problem in autospec's spec file on Red Hat 7.x has been fixed.

You have made a great tool!! We are using it on our software server where we are packaging and building packages. But autospec and rpmbuild on redhat es3 dont seem to like eachathoer all the time.

Some syntax and format of what autospec creates bugs out when trying to rpmbuild it. In my searches it seems to be %doc tags in the spec file. It whould be great if you can find time to review and try to fix this. Im using package rpm-build-4.2.1-4.4 version of rpmbuild.

Keep up the good work!
